About Us

We are committed to keeping our brand ethical and sustainable – this is why we are starting small: limited collection with limited units of the same model – there are only 50 items of a kind! Our main goal is to create our collections so that there is no mass production and clearance sales – we all know where fast fashion ends up (landfills). Even though our quantities are minimal, we would love to ask you not to rush with the purchases. If you are not sure – get in touch with us. We are happy to answer all the questions you may have.

From beginning to the end to create our clothing, we are working with people, not machines – we are proud to say that our manufacturers have women-led teams across all production sectors: from design directors to block printers.

Para Devi is eager to create seasonless and timeless clothing – we believe in investing in a few good quality pieces rather than copious amounts of fast fashion that loses its relevance in a blink of an eye. We also only work with natural fabrics – organic cotton, linen and silk.

OUR MISSION

To produce a single drop of Para Devi season takes approximately 6-8 months, and there is a time when production stops altogether – because artisans create our dresses in Jaipur, India, during monsoon season, the dying and printing of fabric stops and commences early in the autumn again – depends on the nature herself.

From beginning to the end to create our clothing, we are working with people, not machines – we are proud to say that our manufacturers have women-led teams across all production sectors: from design directors to block printers.

our goal

Our main goal is to work with artisans and not only help to keep ancient techniques alive but also participate in enhancing the quality of life in local communities – it costs a lot more, but we can sleep at night well knowing that our artisans work in clean, safe, well-conditioned spacious places, their working hours are fair, and they are paid for the work they do.We have visited the offices and printing and stitching houses, too – we have met the people we are so proud to work with!

our future

In future, we hope to introduce some beautiful Irish wool as well. We are committed to reducing the plastic where possible entirely – your orders come to you in plastic free packaging - either in a cotton tote bag or wrapped in recycled

why Para Devi?

Para Devi is the Supreme Goddess from certain tantric traditions of India. It is believed that Goddess is everything that surrounds us and is within us – the Mother essence – Nature, the giver of life and the one who welcomes everything back when its time – the never ending cycles of renewal, spring and winter. We named our brand after the Supreme Goddess as a homage to the ancient traditions of the land we are working with – our way of honouring the culture we are so inspired by. At the end of each year, we are committed to donating a certain percentage of our profits to NGOs that work with local women and their empowerment in India – we will share what we have been up to every January.
